What we do not collect
Stayontab has no upload API. Conversion happens in your browser with local JavaScript and WebAssembly. We do not receive the contents of your photos, filenames, EXIF, or GPS.
You can verify this: convert a file with the Network tab open. You should see static assets (HTML, JS, WASM) — not a POST of your image.
What this site may collect later
This early version does not include analytics or ads. If we add privacy-respecting analytics (page views, not file data) or display ads, this page will say so. Ads will never require reading your files.
Cookies
No cookies are set for conversion. The tool works without an account.
HEIC decoding
HEIC support uses a browser build of libheif via the heic-to library (LGPL-3.0). That code runs on your machine.
